Policies

Booking & Reservation Policy

  • All clients must submit a completed Sign-up Form.
  • Reservations are confirmed only after both the Sign-up Form and payment are received.
  • Dates are not held without payment.
  • Submitting a Sign-up Form does not guarantee availability until confirmation is provided.

Meet & Greet Policy

Drop-In Visits:

  • A free meet and greet is required if medications, medical needs, or special care are involved.
  • If no medications are involved, a phone or video consultation may be substituted.

House Sitting:

  • A free in-person meet and greet is required for all house-sitting bookings, regardless of medications.
  • Services will not begin without a completed meet and greet (or approved alternative, where applicable).

Payment Policy

Forms of Payment:

  • Accepted forms of payment are listed on the Sign-up page.
  • Note: Checks must be received at least two weeks before the service begins.

Drop-In Visits:

  • Full payment is due at the time of booking.
  • NOTE: Drop-in visits with 3 or more cats are automatically scheduled as 60-minute visits to ensure the best possible care.

House Sitting:

  • Bookings up to two weeks: full payment due at booking.
  • Bookings longer than two weeks:
    • 50% deposit due at booking.
    • Remaining balance due on the first day of service.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Drop-In Visits:

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance: full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours: 50% refund.

House Sitting:

  • Bookings up to two weeks: non-refundable.
  • Bookings longer than two weeks:
    • 50% of the deposit refunded if cancelled.
    • Remaining balance will no longer be due.

Veterinary & Emergency Care Policy

If a cat requires veterinary care during a sitting:

  • Sedona Cat Sitters is authorized to seek medical attention at the client's preferred veterinarian or the nearest available clinic.
  • Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the client prior to treatment, except in emergencies.
  • All veterinary-related expenses are the responsibility of the client, including:
    • Exams
    • Treatments
    • Medications
    • Transportation
  • Clients agree to reimburse Sedona Cat Sitters upon returning home for any veterinary expenses incurred during the sitting.

Health, Behavior & Disclosure Policy

Clients must disclose:

  • Medical conditions.
  • Behavioral issues.
  • Special care instructions.
  • Cats must be free of contagious illnesses.
  • Sedona Cat Sitters reserves the right to decline or discontinue service if a cat's behavior poses a safety risk to the sitter.

Medication Policy

  • Medications must be clearly labeled with written instructions.
  • Sedona Cat Sitters is not responsible for complications resulting from:
    • Incorrect or incomplete instructions.
    • Undisclosed medical conditions.
  • Medication administration is performed to the best of the sitter's ability but without medical guarantee.

Home Access & Client Responsibility Policy

Clients are responsible for providing:

  • Reliable home access.
  • Working keys, codes, or entry instructions.

Sedona Cat Sitters is not responsible for:

  • Alarm system malfunctions.
  • Utility outages.
  • Issues beyond reasonable control.

Weather, Emergencies & Unforeseen Events

Service schedules may be delayed, modified, or canceled in response to conditions beyond our control, including:

  • Severe weather.
  • Road closures.
  • Natural disasters.
  • Medical or personal emergencies.

Our top priority is the safety and well-being of your cats.

Updates & Communication Policy

  • Visit updates and photos will be provided via text or email.
  • Frequency of updates may vary based on service type, schedule, and connectivity.

Credits & Unused Services Policy

  • Sedona Cat Sitters reserves the right to decline or discontinue service if a cat's behavior poses a safety risk to the sitter.
  • If service is discontinued after it has begun due to safety concerns, any unused sitting fees will be applied as a credit toward a future paid booking.
  • If a client returns home earlier than the scheduled end date, at least 24 hours' advance notice is required.
  • If proper notice is given, any unused sitting fees will be applied as a credit toward a future paid booking.
  • Early returns with less than 24 hours' notice are eligible for a 50% credit toward a future paid booking.

Credits:

  • Apply only to unused services.
  • Have no cash value.
  • Are non-transferable.
  • Must be used by the same client.
  • Must be used within 12 months of the original booking.
  • Will be applied at the time of the next paid booking.

Liability Limitation

Sedona Cat Sitters cannot be held responsible for events or conditions outside of our control, including:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions.
  • Acts of nature (e.g., storms, earthquakes).
  • Delays or issues caused by third-party services or contractors.

All services are provided with reasonable care and professionalism.
